Methods Of Hair Restoration DE

By Douglas Sanders

Medical methods of restoring hair and transplanting have been researched for many years. It is estimated that over 90 percent of men will at one point experience baldness. There is some variance in that some of the causes are medical while others are genetic. In consideration of hair restoration DE residents need to know different methods used for treatment of the condition. The two methods of treatment are divided into surgical and non-surgical.

Non-surgical options do not need any form of transplantation and have been used for years. They come in many forms. Most of such treatments are however not effective when it comes to restoration and one might waste money on them. Over time however, there are two medications that have emerged that are affordable and effective. They are actually the only two drugs approved by the FDA for hair restoration.

The first drug is called finasteride. It is a prescription medication which will restore hair and gets marketed as propecia. It gets administered in the form of a pill and will bring about regrowth in several months. It is not however supposed to be used by pregnant women or those that are planning to get children during its use. It is known to cause birth defects on unborn children. Actually, such women are not even supposed to handle it because it is absorbed through the skin.

The second drug is called Minoxidil. It is used by both men and women and is marketed as Rogaine. Rogaine is a topical treatment that gets applied on the scalp daily to help in promoting growth of hairs. It comes with varying results but which will be realized after several months. Both options are easy to use and will be effective in different degrees. They however have a downside in that should one stop using them, the hairs that had grown will be lost.

Over time, surgical methods are becoming more are more common. There are a number of surgical options individuals can consider. Hair transplant surgery is very common and is preferred by most people. It is not as invasive as compared to other techniques. It has excellent results in most patients that use it. After years of research, it has become easier to do and also safer.

The question on the best method to use will depend on the particular patient. The best technique depends on the doctor doing the right diagnosis on what the cause of the loss is. It will also depend on what the individual is willing to spend on their treatment, and how patients they are.

Non-surgical methods are more easily applied and are discreet when compared to surgical methods. Besides, the medications are more easy to get over the counter especially when it comes to Rogaine which is not prescription. They are not effective for everybody and will take time to realize results.

The option of surgery is more costly and needs more effort from patients. The time taken for recovery will depend on method of treatment. The more invasive options take more time to heal. Also, they are not easy to hide.
